im kinda late (by kind of i mean 4 months), but the screwdriver got a pretty big buff with the release of violence, when you parry it, it deals the damage it did before AND all of the damage it would deal if you left it in, so if you just punch the drill immediately after sticking it to an enemy it deals more damage than an electric rail shot, but i havent tested if its better than railcoining

2:24 those are still teleporters in here as well. But the linedefs around them which have the teleport action are smaller than in Sigil 1. And the hitboxes in Doom are always squares that don't rotate. Even the player hitbox. So if you aproach them from diagonal angle you'll just bump into it. Because the corners of the object's hitbox are too close to the teleport lines.

As one of those annoying adults who loves cartoons, this game's cast drove me NUTS. Gray Griffin, Steve Blum, at first I thought Betruger was voiced by Mark Hamill and I wouldn’t at all surprised if it were him [it's not him tho]

Judging from scans of Ridley in this game, his brain, spinal chord, and anything that isn't made of metal and technology are what are intact of Ridley from Samus' encounter with him on Zebes. So, it's safe to say that this is still the same Space Pirate, a good amount of him is still intact, he absolutely remembers Samus, and he's fucking pissed.

One of my favorite bits of trivia about DOOM is that John Romero didn't contribute many maps to DOOM II because he spent a lot of time at work playing online deathmatch in the first game. DOOM is so good it cannibalized its own developers' time.

26:05 IIRC the swordsmachine from the prelude is in fact THE original Swordsmachine, which is presumably why it has so much more HP than the rest :3 And the ones from 0-2 and 0-3 are the same swordsmachine. I think canonically V1 fights it in 0-3.
